Watched the final 50-lap segment last night...

Not too sure about 2 & 4 car line ups. Makes me think that they'll get back into the nonsense of just doin' laps until the end of the race again...

What a different kinda race the Bud Shoot Out was tonite at Daytona!   Weird from the norm of nose to tail racing. Featured 2 and 4 up tandum drafting all nite long.  Congrats to Kurt Busch first ever restricter plate win.

Yup...

Qualifying/heat races. Just like Saturday night on the short tracks. Even there, the longest race we ever ran in our division was 50 laps. Plenty long enough...

Late-Model and Super Late-Model would run as many as 200 laps. But, they were broken into 2, 100-laps segments...

That dude does have some excellent suggestions to make the sport not so boring.    Really the races are too long and so is the season.  I agree with those 2 points for sure.  Oh and turning left all the time is boring too -  I have to agree with Preacher on that one.... LOL!!     Like to see the All Star or shoot out format for some of the smaller tracks...

Dave you do you think will win the championship Hamlin ?    Be unbelievable to see Johnson win the race... A real milestone, 5 championships in a row.  It would be years before any driver would ever top that feat if he does win it.........

Well Jeff, I'm sure hopin' that Hamlin wins. That boy has worked his ass off this season!

Without goin' too deep into the points system, all Hamlin really has to do is cross the finish line ahead of Johnson or one spot behind and lead one lap (+5 points) or lead more laps than anyone else (+5 points) if he manages to do both, that's a 10-point bonus.

There's only 15 points between 1st & 2nd place, and that's all that's between the two (Johnson -15 points to Hamlin)

The "wild-card" in the whole thing is Harvick. He could still take the title. Not sure of the scenario that it would take. He's only down 46 points to Hamlin...

As for Johnson, the biggest thing about a 5th title for him, is that they would be consecutive titles. I only know of one other driver with more championships, and they weren't consecutive...

Now, I realize this is gonna be hard for ya, since yer one of them crackers that thinks nascar is real racing, but which part of I don't like nascar did you miss? And, if I don't like it, why do you think I would waste time watching a movie about it, especially when it has that analcranium Ferrell in it? I know you will not understand this, but there are lots of things more interesting than nascar, and they cost a lot less. You can go to the local school, and watch paint dry for free. You can go to the park, and watch people pick up dogcrap for free. You can go to the junkyard, and watch cars rust. All of these are free, and a lot more interesting than watching a bunch of crackers go around in a circle and bang into each other.

now, get off it, got it?
