Hey Jeff, you know that Carl Edwards had to be pissed when Bayne dropped down in front of him and won!

Otherwise, it was actually a better race than I expected. Lots of lead changes and yeah, a few right turns too...

Well  there was alot of carnage in todays 53rd running of the Daytona 500.    In the end I thought Earnhardt Jr may pull off the win until he was taken out.....   But then it was nice to see a young 20 yr old Trevor Bayne win in the stockcar racing jewell in only his 2nd Sprintcup Start.

Did you guys ever see that old "ad" for Nascar when it first started, how there was a tech crew that disassembled the winning car engine to make sure it was BONE STOCK? I remember just one part of it, where the announcer says something to the effect of " to make sure that the parts are the same any customer can purchase at his local dealer"
I wonder what happened to the "stock car" thing, and when it became race cars in sort of stock looking bodies?

Don't remember the commercial Preacher. But, I sorta feel that way too...

When I was playin' with the lower division "Amateur" class, the rules were pretty specific on the cars. Guess when you get into the Grand-National types, you have something that might accidentally resemble what's available in the show-room...

It was actually a lot of fun doin' it that way...

Who won the truck race from Daytona last nite ?  Anyone watch that ?   I saw the national anthem,  but then had to go to Louisville and watch the boy play music.  Noticed there is another Fe-Male driver in the truck driver line up......Michael Waltrip...

Yeah, I thought the same thing Jeff. Finally get something on the track that actually looks sorta like what's on the street...

The way things are goin' with the rule changes lately, it almost looks like they should just make "Spec-Cars", like they do at some of the lower divisions...

One manufacturer and 4 different models (Ford, Chevy, Dodge & Toyota) Sealed engines, identical chassis, etc. Make it all about the driver & set-up. Gettin' closer and closer to that with the new fuel injection system that's comin' next year...

I think its a great idea...  Nascar should use Sport models like the Mustang and Dodge Challenger....  Even though only the look is the same - LOL!    The Ford Fusion and Toyota Camry Nascar is presently representing are not sport cars...

Jeff, Jimmie has the most championships of any current driver. Not the most in the sport...

I'm stickin' with Hamlin...
I stand corrected  Your right Dave..   Richard Petty and Dale Earnhardt SR.  both had 7 national championships...   Jimmy has 5.   He may end up w/ more than 7 before he's threw though.

p.s., I am still going with Jimmy Johnson.
Well I must say Preacher,  you made a good choice...  He's the winning-est nascar champion out of all of 'em...

Not too sure about 2 & 4 car line ups. Makes me think that they'll get back into the nonsense of just doin' laps until the end of the race again...
I agree w/ ya Dave....  I was thinking the same thing,  last nite they were just following the leader, didn't seem like anyone had much get away power other than the freightrain technique they were all doing.    But,  I think there will be alot of wrecks...  Which leads to alot of action..  We will find out next Sunday.
