They start rollin' in right after Christmas in the huge motorhomes, towin' a car, and make a mess out of the freeway by the house. I'm only about 5 miles from the Rose Parade route and about twice that far to the Rose Bowl...

"Open Season" on Snowbirds? Is that just in Florida or is that nationwide?

Oh and Dave,  Just put your original bars back on and pick ya up a windshield maybe on E-bay? or Jireh has 'em pretty reasonably priced.

I've been thinking about doing exactly that...

I think I am going to invent a set of goggles with windshield wipers.
I know that the last time I drove across Western Nebraska, I had to pull off the interstate a couple of times just to clean the guts off the windshield on my Thunderbird...
Kansas and Nebraska both are the worst 'bug splat states' anywhere.  ....Louisiana isn't  exactly a slouch either.

Those bugs can hurt when they hit too....LOL...
....and contrary to popular myths, they really don't taste all that good either.  However, a couple of junebugs can really be filling.

That is the great thing I quickly noticed about the Dressers. When I rode my friends Dresser the other day, no wind, great for in the Winter.. Maybe put on a short windshield in the Summer to get the wind in your face huh?
Believe it or not...I never had a windshield til I put one on Jacques Sportster in 2000...I took it for a ride and said this is really nice...Got one for myself and never looked back...I use to have a thing about windshields and did not like the way they looked and did not think much about their functionality..No more bugs going splat on my face shield, protection from rocks and other crap and not much wind which I found to be a real PITA on longer high speed rides...Don't have that problem now...
I miss the windshield on my bike. They're nice when it starts rainin' too.

No room on the bars and a broken mount have stopped me from puttin' it back on...

Funny thing is, it actually felt warmer ridin' in this morning than it did yesterday. A lot of people don't think it gets cold here in So Cal, or I'm a puss for wearin' thermals, or layering jackets & shirts, etc.

But, 40F degrees at 65 or 70 mph is cold. No matter what part of the country you're in.

A bagger with a fairing and windshield would be nice. But, if I bundle up, it still beats the truck for traffic...

EDIT NWS website calculates 40F at 70mph as 27F...

We have had an entire week of temps in the 60's and 70's.   Got to do a lot of ridin' last weekend.

Has been unusually warm for this time of year.   It's about over with unfortunately.
