Amazing. California isn't even in the top 10...

The Gayest City in America is...
By JONATHAN LLOYD
Updated 12:45 PM PST, Wed, Jan 12, 2011

Minneapolis, the city that's an enigma wrapped in a riddle wrapped in a ring of urban lakes and Scandinavian stoicism, has done it again. In its second annual list of the Gayest Cities in America, the Advocate.com ranks Minneapolis No. 1. There's always next year, St. Paul.

West Hollywood? Not on the list of 15.
San Francisco? The 11th gayest.

And this is what they came up with:
1. Minneapolis
2. Santa Fe, N.M.
3. Las Vegas
4. Orlando, Fla.
5. Pittsburgh
6. Vancouver, Wash.
7. Atlanta
8. Washington, D.C.
9. Seattle
10. St. Louis
11. San Francisco
12. Cleveland
13. Denver
14. Oakland
15. Miami

Convicted child molester from San Gabriel killed in prison

ARCADIA - A registered sex offender convicted of assaulting a 5-year-old girl inside an Arcadia bookstore in 2008 and sent to prison in September was killed by his cellmate, prison officials said Wednesday.

Jaime Elizondo, 35, of San Gabriel was killed Dec. 20, and his High Desert State Prison cellmate, Steven Cisneros, 36, is the prime suspect, said Lt. Charlie Hahn, prison spokesman.

Cisneros, 36, who arrived at the prison in November to serve a 56-years-to-life sentence for murder, was placed in segregation while Elizondo's death is being investigated, prison spokesman Lt. Charles Hahn said in a news release.

Elizondo was serving a 30-year-to-life term for lewd and lascivious acts on a child under 14 following his September 2010 conviction.

He arrived at the 4,600-inmate facility in Susanville on Nov. 30, the same day Cisneros arrived at the prison from San Bernardino County to begin serving his term, officials said.

Elizondo was convicted of exposing himself to the young victim inside a Borders bookstore at an Arcadia mall in 2008. The assault was captured on the store's video system.

A witness confronted Elizondo and later found his photo on a Web site listing registered sex offenders and gave police the information.

Talk about a screw up...

Woman gets $286 million bill

Thursday, December 16, 2010
PHILADELPHIA (AP) — How much is in your wallet?

A suburban Philadelphia woman is suing credit card company Capital One after she received a bill for just less than $300 million.

Patrice Perry sued the company last week, saying she endured months of harassment before receiving the massive bill in August. Perry says the $286,651,237 bill was accompanied by letter threatening legal action if she did not submit her payment in the included envelope.

Perry's attorney says his client received a bill last year claiming she owed about $4,800. She received further bills with greater or lesser amounts but no reasons given for the changes. Then came the whopping August bill.

Capital One tells the Philadelphia Daily News that human error sometimes leads to inaccurate billing letters. The company says it is working to resolve the issue.

Malodorous Perp Gets 90 Days In Jail
Woman, 41, uttered line heard ‘round the Internet

NOVEMBER 16--The West Virginia woman who last month pulled a knife on two men and announced, “Somebody is going to eat my pussy or I’m going to cut your fucking throat,” pleaded guilty today to assault and was sentenced to 90 days in jail.

During an appearance this morning in Jackson County Magistrate Court, Melissa Lee Williams, 41, also received a 90-day suspended sentence and was ordered to pay $185.80 in court costs, according to a plea form. Williams, pictured in the mug shot at left, is currently in custody at the South Central Regional Jail.

Williams was arrested last month following a bizarre incident at the 77 Motor Inn, where she was living at the time. According to an October 22 Jackson County Sheriff’s Department report--excerpted here--Williams waved a knife at two men who declined her demands to engage in sexual conduct (one of the men was Danny Williams, her estranged husband).

Deputies reported that Williams, who was living four doors down from Danny Williams, showed up at his residence and asked him and another man to “eat my pussy.” While Danny Williams “declined said invitation,” the other man, Adam Watson, told cops that he “agreed to perform at her request,” according to Deputy Ross Mellinger.

However, as Watson approached Williams, “he became overwhelmed by horrible vaginal odor emitting from Melissa Williams.” As a result, Watson “declined to proceed any further.”

At this point, Melissa Williams “produced a lock-back folding knife,” opened it, and pointed the weapon at her estranged husband. She then uttered a line that has since ricocheted across the Internet: “Somebody is going to eat my pussy or I’m going to cut your fucking throat.”

When Deputy Mellinger arrived at the motor inn, he discovered Williams “nude from the waist down and sitting in a living room chair.” He also noted that “all subjects appeared to be intoxicated and smelled badly of an alcoholic beverage.”

Willie Nelson charged with pot possession
Officer: Search of country singer's tour bus turns up 6 ounces of marijuana

SIERRA BLANCA, Texas — A U.S. Border Patrol spokesman says country singer Willie Nelson was charged with marijuana possession after 6 ounces was found aboard his tour bus in Texas.
Patrol spokesman Bill Brooks says the bus pulled into the Sierra Blanca, Texas, checkpoint about 9 a.m. Friday. Brooks says an officer smelled pot when a door was opened and a search turned up marijuana.
Brooks says the Hudspeth County sheriff was contacted and Nelson was among three people arrested.
Sheriff Arvin West didn't immediately return a phone message left at his home Friday, but he told the El Paso Times that Nelson claimed the marijuana was his. The singer was held briefly a $2,500 bond before being released.
Nelson spokeswoman Elaine Schock declined to comment when contacted via e-mail by The Associated Press.

Mystery of Google Street View's naked guy in trunk

Google Street View's German launch has truly been like no other.
Germany is not like Brazil, where Street View seemed to unearth more dead bodies on sidewalks than can be seen in the whole repertoire of "Law and Order."
For Germany's bodies are alive with mystery. And no mystery can surely be greater than the one that appeared and has, at least temporarily, disappeared at Zwerchgasse 39 in Mannheim, Germany.

The image, which was captured by the German newspaper Der Spiegel, offers a story. The only question is: What story?
It seems to show a naked man getting out of the trunk of a car. A dog is lying in the driveway, either asleep or permanently with the angels. A broken umbrella seems to be lying near the dog.
What could all this mean?
My own view is that the greatest importance lies in what is in the yellow bottle near the car. Could it be cleaning fluid? Might something suspicious have been inside the trunk of the car? Might the man have been cleaning it out? Might he have been cleaning out a dead body? A dead body of a dog, perhaps?
If it isn't cleaning fluid, what is it? Might it have been used to poison the dog or at least to send it to sleep while its owner bravely removed a dead body from the trunk in the full joy of daylight?
The intrigue here seems endless. Might he not be naked at all? There is a chance that somewhere in there resides some shorts about his person. Might he himself have been kidnapped and shoved in that trunk, with the assailants scarpering when they saw the might of the Street View car turn the corner?
On the other hand, could this all have been staged by another German with a sense of the absurd? While almost 3 percent of Germans decided to blur out their properties on Street View, others, at least to my wicked sentiment, decided to have fun with the whole escapade.
First, there was the tenant who happened to enjoy the same office building as Google in Munich. This tenant requested that the building should be blurred. Which meant that Google had to comply with blurring its own offices.
Might this seemingly naked man in the trunk of a soft-top have a soft spot for amusing the world with an unsolvable tale of intrigue?
Google has removed this shot and says on the Street View site that it is "under review."
So one waits with cross-legged anticipation to find out whether something exciting, dangerous, or possibly even criminal might have been happening here. Or whether this was really just a (possibly) naked guy cleaning the junk in his trunk.

I ain't buyin' it. Can't find another source for the story and then when ya go to the "Daily Squib" "About US" page, this is, in part, what they tell you about themselves...

About Us

Fleet Street has had many fine tales of bawdy excess and debauchery, none more so than the tale of the Daily Squib Newspaper.

Created by the notorious 6th Duke of Pembroke in 1862, Francis Wellesley. The Duke used his wealth and power for all manner of bachinalian excesses and treachery.

The Daily Squib was and is the rock star of all news and satire.

With more bite than Punch and a harder edge than an Eye in the Privates, the Daily Squib has cheated and bitten its way through the mass of tripe that is the British media for the last few centuries.

WOW... Does our military really have the technology like this video shows ?   If so,  thats incredible... Must be real -  looks real ??

Jeff - a few of the more popular gun-ships and their guns...

AC130 - http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/AC130 and the gun is http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/GAU-12_Equalizer

AH-64 - http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/AH-64_Apache and the gun is http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/M230_Chain_Gun

AH-1 - http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bell_AH-1_Cobra and the gun is http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Minigun

Some interesting (but of useless) trivia Jeff...

Started researching to answer your question on the gun technology in the video Marc posted...

In the U.S. the first test bed for a fixed wing gun-ship was the C-131 in 1963. After that, they went into production in 1965 on the C-47, the production ran until 1969.

The interesting part about the C-47 is that it is based on the DC-3 (Passenger plane)

The first flight of the DC-3 was in December 1935. Over 16,000 were built, and most of them were built in the U.S., (Long Beach and Santa Monica, CA and Oklahoma City, OK)

Almost 5000 were built in Russia (under license)

Almost 500 were built in Japan (under license)

All that useless trivia came from Wikipedia...

I remember when we (McDonnell-Douglas) celebrated the 50th anniversary of the DC-3 back in 1985. And there are still some out there flying, a 75 year old design...
