But, I don't think he's ever been exposed to something like that. From what I hear from Terry (his dad) Zack was gettin' ready to buy a bike. No one in the family wanted him to. But, he was anyway. Not anymore, from what I understand.
I think it showed him how quick a biker's life can come to an end, through no fault of their own...

| A few years ago N.J. put restrictions on how far these JO's can jack up their trucks and other vehicles...To many rollovers, climbovers and other handling problems...They lower their vehicles for annual inspections and then reinstall the lift kits...However, the police can stop you, measure the bumper height and give you a nice $$$ ticket...Unfortunately they don't enforce this law that often....

Just an update. I talked to Terry this morning.
Said that Zack (his son) was right behind the bike, they were in the far left lane, next to the car-pool lane, when a lifted F250 Ford that was in the car-pool lane, came over on top of the bike. Knocked the rider off the bike. He went into a "Tuck-N-Roll" thing and rolled out across the freeway and landed between the axles of an 18-wheeler. By the time the driver brought the rig to a stop, he had already crushed the rider.
Guy in the F-250 was alone in the truck. In order to be in the car-pool lane, you're required to have a minimum of 2 people in the vehicle, unless you're on a motorcycle or driving a Hybred car. So, this guy was trying to get out of the lane so that he wouldn't get caught and fined about $300.00. In the process, he didn't see/look for the bike and caused the guy to be killed...
When the guy in the F250 stopped his truck, he asked Zack "What happened?"
Zack told him "You ran the guy over"
Cops took a statement and contact info, asked him if he'd be willing to testify and sent Zack on his way. Guess his head was pretty fucked this morning from what Terry said...

Happened right in front of a friend of mine's son this morning on his way to work, he was right behind the bike. Car came out of the car-pool lane without looking and took out the guy on the bike. He came off the bike and ended up out in traffic and got hit by the truck. Buddy's son is pretty shook up.
Fatality backs up 91 Freeway
SigAlert shuts down all westbound lanes except carpool at State College Boulevard.
BY SPENCER KALLICK
The Orange County Register
ANAHEIM – A SigAlert was issued this morning for the westbound Riverside (91) Freeway at State College Boulevard after a motorcycle rider was fatally struck by a big rig, authorities said.
Preliminary investigations report that the victim fell from the motorcycle and was hit by the big rig at about 7:35 a.m., California Highway Patrol officer Rolf Trondsen said.
All lanes on the westbound freeway except the carpool lane were closed, backing traffic to Lakeview Avenue. The SigAlert was canceled at 10:40 a.m., Trondsen said.
No information on the victim was immediately available, Trondsen said.
