After you do your oil change, take your used filter and cut it open. Then check for pieces of plastc in the old filter. It'll give you an idea if the tensioners are wearing.

Hmm..  I was thinking the '05 twin cams had the same set up as my '99 did..   3 cam tentioners.   Oh well,  sounds like you've checked yours out,  thats the main thing.

Awe I see... One thing I would definitely do - you'll have to take off your front pipe to do this, then pull off your cam cover and ck your cam tentioners for ware. There are 2 on the front of the cam chain, one black and one brown.  Then the 3rd one you'll have to ck with a small dentist mirror or similar small mirror on the  backside of the chain.   They all ware out some go at 10000 miles others will last up to 100,000. miles.  Bad thing is when the cam tentioners, which are made out of fiber, wares down to metal, then the metal goes through you motor.. Not a good ending.   The previous owner may of changed em over to gear drive cams.  Thats the cure.   I did the gear drive conversion on my 99 EG I used to have.  Cost about $800 for the whole kit + labor.   I'd ck em out for sure - just for peace of mind.

Nope it had a commander II power pack on it, but I disconected it because it kept shutting the fuel supply off in the mountains under a heavy pull.

I feel bad for you and know what your going through...Jacque was diagnosed with breast cancer a little over 3 years ago...Fortunately they caught it early and she is OK...The radiation and other treatments can knock you down though...He is in our prayers...

bro was told by doc on wed that he had 6 months, and then thru night both of his furnaces went out. We loaded up 7 electic heaters and ran down to him to keep them warm till furnace guy could get there friday.  He is a fighter so will not give up, I think a lot of positive attitude will go along way, the mind(GOD) can heal a lot of things. Will just have to keep trudging along, doing radiation everyday for 15 and another round of 20 weeks of cemo.
