I though about it but I just figured I go the easy route and replace the belt. I bought the the Harley SE belt....I figured the last one lasted 43K and 6 years so I'd chance another one..............

I thought that you gonna swap out the belt drive on the Dyna for a chain and sprockets?

My belt had 43600 miles on it, replacement cost 121.23 with tax.  The parts guy was laugh when I told him how bad I was huffin and puffin when I made it to my driveway, he said the higher HP really shortens the life of the belt due to belt wrap up. When I told him mine looked like it was cut he said that was caused by the belt wrapping and kinking under hard acceleration..............

I'm getting to damn old to push a bike a mile home......LOLThat sux...I'm sucking wind after pushing mine 10 feet...LOL...I hear those belts are good for over 100,000 miles...I looked into one of those emergency replacement belts a few years back but could not see spending $100.00+ for something I may never use...But then again If I am out in the middle of no where which is where I like to be It may be worth looking into again...We still have many areas with no cell phone coverage...

About the same with that EV27 Steve. Hit a certain spot (Sweet-Spot :D I don't have the tach on it anymore) and it feels like you kicked in a turbo...

Dave you know as well as I a motor is a big air pump the more you can suck in the horsepower you can make. My heads have been seriously worked on the flow bench for max air flow. My motor has yet to break anything( Just shot myself in the foot with that comment) in the 35K I have put on it since I built it.  It does run hotter than a stocker 88 but I run SYN oil and a cooler plus I installed a cooling fan where the horn nornally mounted for when I get stuck in traffic to keep air flowing over the jugs.......so far she's been real reliable and I still use the stock starter.....
Do you have any driveability problems operating at lower RPM's...I know a few guys that have high HP bikes but they do not run that great below 3,000 but above that they frickin fly...I know some of those cams will not run well in the lower RPM ranges...Love my 26G's...

No real drivability issues, Cam pulls pretty well from 2000 all the way up, but at around 2800 RPM it feels like the turbo kicked in.........Below 1800 rpm it don't pull worth a damn...................

Friend of mine has a '04 Screamin Eagle 103" TC..  just did the gear drive cams went pretty big with higher lift ones.....  Anyway,  he also changed his stock 32 tooth front pulley to a 34 tooth.   Says its just right still can take off with 2 riders onboard. Lowered the rpms and increased top end no doubt..

Yeah, it is a little different to ride now. But, one shop I talked to a long time ago, suggested I run an EV40-something. Andrews said it kicked in around 25-28 somewhere. Nope...

I want USABLE power. Gotta be able to run it from light to light AND on the highway...

Only have a 5-speed and so far, I'm real happy with the EV27. I'd love to be able to afford a 6-speed. But, it ain't in the cards (or the budget) One of these days I may experiment with sprocket/pulley ratios...
