By the way, I've been riding now for close to 50 years and I hit my first hog today! I'm talking about a 200+ pound white Duroc! I came around a curve and there were 10 in the middle of the road, when they heard me coming the scattered in every direction. Some even came straight at me. I hit the binders and got slowed down but I knew I was not going to get stopped before getting to them. Well, all got out of the road except one and it went the opposite direction. It ran straight into my front tire then I hit it with the right side crash bar. The bar bent back far enough to bend the footboard and brake peddle.
The police have not found the owners yet, hope they do I don't have the dough to buy a new crashbar. By the way the oil cooler did not leak!

If I remember right, the book tells you to coat the axle with Anti-Seize...
Never follow the example of those idiots from OCC and use a 5-pound sledge to "push" your axle though. Should be a slip fit...

The little packer that lets you leave the bearing in the hub is handy, but like you say, no big deal the old fashioned way and just as good for the bearing too.
