several co.,s make performance ignitions for evo,s . catalogs are full of them . just curious dave , did yours go in the nose cone , most do, and require a coil and wire upgrade. ps jeff a stock ignition will run a 100$ or better, put a new one in mine , from the indy last spring , bout what it cost me. Yeah Weasle, the whole unit, except for the coil is in the nose cone. Took all of about 30 minutes to install. I had to modify the coil mount a little to make it fit in the stock location. All wiring was included too. If I remember right, I think I paid about $150.00 for it. I had the indy set the timing after I "eye-balled" it, I was off about 10-degrees...

I know it did make a difference in my bike when I swapped the stock ignition for the single fire. Mine's got a few different settings on it. I know that its got a rev limiter and a race or street setting. Think there's a kick or electric start and one other setting. Can't remember all the specs off the top of my head.
But, I'd say it was a worth-while upgrade. JMHO...
I think you can probably do some shopping and get a better price on a similar unit or one with similar features... I agree $250. seems a little steep! Same price in J&P. A bit too much for me right now. Now I don't know about other suppliers maybe on Ebay perhaps?

Guy I know was telling me he has one of these on his 98 Evo.. And its the real deal! Can dial in any number of rev limiter choices and other settings. This one is for '99 to '02 TC's I believe.
