Might want to replace the boots if the ball joints are still in good shape...
Well Dave,  the squeaking has stopped w/ the ball joints for now/  greased em and sprayed in heavy duty silicone lube... which is water proof.. I believe possibly if I just lube em about once a month whenever I hear em squeakin again.. may be good for along time....  time will tell.....
Red Green would use duct tape.

Had it on my 66 F250, 70 E100 and 73 F250. It would take a beating and keep comin' back for more. My Ranger has torsion bar front suspension...
Just yesturday I got under the boys 99 Ranger and tried to shoot some grease inside the boots of the upper and lower ball joints-- were squeekin like crazy..  Preacher told me to do this with a needle and grease gun.. I think it helped....  Sealed, no grease fittings.. It sucks when motor co's take aways grease fittings.  bastards!!

Back home, that was the only front end that didn't need realligned every 6 months.

Good thing I took out a used car ext warranty when I bought this '01 Olds Aurora a year and half ago.   Never been a fan of warrantys much,  but this car apparently had been hot sometime in its history.  Long story short-- had to have the 3.5 litre v 6 top end tore down and heads milled and a bunch of other crap done to it..   $1700 bucks worth,   gonna cost me outa pocket right at $300. :? better than the total though.....
