Sorry Ford people, couldn't resist. Actually, don't seem to matter what you drive anymore, they all have their glitches.

Interesting Steve, Thanks.

I'm wondering if I actually fixed something that wasn't broke. Well, I guess I'll find out when it rains again...

Well, I pulled the light yesterday afternoon and siliconed it up pretty good. We got rain in the forecast for the week end. So, I'll see how good of a job I did or if the leak was what I thought it was...

Thanks for the responses. I figured that a few people here were possibly having the same or a similar issue. The google search I mentioned in my original post, showed stuff for just about every make of truck and several different cars. The only truck I didn't see mentioned, was Nissan. I know that I didn't have a problem with the cab on that truck leaking. Mine was a 1996.

I'm gonna be working from home today, weather is dry (again) so I might get out there and pull the light off the cab and seal it up with some silicone. We got more rain on the way. Hope to get it fixed before it hits...

Just wonderin' if anyone else here had the problem. I know I ain't the only one with a Ford Ranger...
No leaks except for the rear glass on the topper of my boys Ford Ranger.. One of his dit wit band members sit an amp in the back with no cushions and it fell over and broke out the side window of the topper shell,,,,:X Patched it for now....  I was looking under the back of his truck Sunday and noticed the differential gasket was broke and dripping lube.   SO I backed it in the garage last night and fixed that.  My son has no initiative to wanta fix anything mechanical-- always calls on me.... Oh well its nice to be needed I guess.. LOL!   I always tell him what I did and how I fix stuff....  Maybe he'll get inspired one of these days.. If its a gun though he can fix it!

Since there are a few of us here that own and drive pick ups, I was wondering about cab leaks. When it rains, the floor of the cab in my 2005 Ranger Extended cab (4-door) gets a puddle. One of my friends at work, his son also has 2005 Ford Ranger Extended cab (2 door) His leaks too. Looks like it might be coming from the rear window on the right (passenger side) and that side of the front floor is where the puddle is. I figured it was leaking at the top of the rear window somewhere. Even saw a few drops of water on the ledge under the rear window.

So, I did a search on it using google, and I've been reading a bit about this and it seems that it's from the third brake light. Couple of ways to go. New gasket between the light and cab or just add some silicone or chalking in between.

Anyone else having a similar issue? Seems to be happening on just about all makes and models of trucks.
