You're right, I did misunderstand. But, the unit don't have that option...

You're right Abo, not much advantage at all. Except the price.

Seemed like I was gonna end up buyin' a new ignition system one way or another.

So, I went single fire...

Their really is not much advantage to single fire unless you have dual plugs.. switch the unit to dual fire and run the tach.. or at least run it for break in if you must. Just an idea. Abo

dont think the rpm makes all that much difference , as long as you do the speed recomendations. course ya dont want to do them in 3 rd gear. LMAO, normal driving should take care of it , thats the way i broke mine in  when new.

Well, I can only guestimate the RPM right now. Since I went with the single-fire ignition and haven't adapted the tach to it, I figured I'd better follow his MPH/mileage rule...

Who knows, maybe I'll get the adapter for the tach too...LOL...

Figured if I'm gonna spend the $$ to have the engine rebuilt, I'm gonna do what I gotta do to break it in right. Indy told me 250 miles no faster than 55mph, and then 250 miles no faster than 65mph. Bring it in for an oil change and service, After that, twist the wick. He's givin' me 6-months, 5000 miles on the engine.

So, I'm gonna have to know how fast I'm really going, right?
I guess everybody has different break in rules...I was told don't exceed 3,000 RPM's for the first 500 miles and gradually increase it after that...3,000 in 6th was just a hair over 80 mph so I was fine...

Yup. It does matter on break in. They have to drop the break in oil, with the small amount of metal, out of the motor. I always respected the break in, and after that let her rip... Doing my 1,000 Mi service this week. Im all broke in and ready to give it hell.. I got the Death do us part warranty. 2 yrs H-D and 7 yrs extended. No miles limit.. Wonder how many motors they will buy me?? Time will tell. Abo

Who do ya go through to get that 7 years extended?  Heck. if I woulda known about it, I would have done it.

Thats my opinion as well...  With the good K&N oil filters ; they are high flow and so you carry even less oil pressure.. So all the guage does is just annoy me.. LOL!
